About a National Scout Regatta

A National Scout Regatta is traditionally a tri-annual event in New Zealand where Sea Scout Troops from all over the country meet up and compete for the title of the Best Sea Scout Group in New Zealand.

This event is not limited to Sea Scout Troops but to all Scout Groups in New Zealand and we are accepting expressions of interests from other scout groups from around the World.

At a Scout Regatta, contingents compete in a number of nautical related events such as Sailing, Rowing, Practical & Theoretical Seamanship, Swimming and Kayaking.

Everyone camps with their contingents on site. The camp must be ship shape for daily inspections!

About the 29th National Scout Regatta

Contingents are due to arrive on the 28th of December 2021 with competitions starting the following day on the 29th. The Regatta will ending on the 7th of January 2022, leaving the 8th of January as a pack up and bug out day

The campsite will be based at Queen Charlotte College and water activities will be based at the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club on Picton Harbor.
